Setting up my pochade box in the shade of a friendly tree to paint for the afternoon has been the best addition to my artistic approach in 2023. As much as I still love painting in my little home studio, creating art on location offers an experience that is one-of-a-kind every time.

Architectural subjects have their own mystique, separate from the allure of a portrait or still life and just as intriguing. Learning to replicate the personality of a building is a real treat and the best outcomes I’ve experienced have come from an on-location approach.
